It’s the ultimate gambling destination, a place where a holiday abroad can take in drive-through weddings, a city where Elvis is still alive and a 24-hour party town like no other. Group holidays in Las Vegas are always fun, even if lady luck might not be on your side in the casinos.
You will no doubt spend some time on The Strip when in Las Vegas, even if it’s just to catch some street performers in action and soak up the atmosphere. Vegas is also famous for its huge malls, with The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and Forum Shops at Caesars Palace being two of the biggest. Popular things to do for group holidays in Las Vega include Gondola Rides at the Venetian (pricey but most visitors rate it highly), Bellagio Fountains and the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at Bellagio (both free!). It’s definitely a good idea to get out of town for at least one trip during your stay in Las Vegas. The Valley of Fire State Park is just an hour’s drive away and gives you trails, rocks to climb, hot springs and great scenery: but wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots! Lake Mead National Recreation Area is even closer, offers boat hire and is close to the spectacular Hoover Dam.
This is of course where Las Vegas truly excels. The bar scene is incredible, with hundreds of bars on The Strip and Downtown. Bacardi is a favourite tipple at Frankie’s Tiki Room, the Griffin is cool as cool can be, Dino’s Lounge has karaoke and smells of bikers and beers, and the Freakin’ Frog always has hundreds of beers to choose from, as well as live bands most nights. Soak up the booze at Moon Doggie’s, which is open 24/7 and is known for its awesome pizza. The club scene is incredibly varied so it suits all kinds of group holiday, including hen and stag weekends, from the lavish Body English Nightclub to the huge Drai’s Beach Blub. Tryst has a 90-foot waterfall on its patio, while the Marquee is aimed at 21-40 year olds and has a pool that becomes a skating rink in the winter. And of course, no visit to Vegas would be complete without catching a show.

Many are part of casino complexes and this is a great choice for most hen weekends and stag weekends in Las Vegas. Mandalay Bay has its own aquarium (you can even dive with the sharks), The Cosmopolitan has 14 restaurants and the Mirage Resort and Casino has recently been upgraded but is still less expensive than many of its rivals.
