GROUP HOLIDAYS TO SPAIN

Booking.com

Spain HotelsSpain has been a favourite destination for millions of Brits since the 1970s. Today, millions of passengers are taking advantage of Spain group bookings. For many, it’s all about sun and sangria and that’s great – but of course the country has much more to offer.

If you are planning your next (or first) trip to Spain, here at GroupHolidays.com we want to do our bit to help make it a success. You can search for live availability using the form above, browse our A to Z Cities in Spain, or alternatively read the mini-guide to Spain highlighting some of the popular landmarks.

Holiday Hotspots

You really are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding your perfect destination in Spain. For a start, there are 15 main towns on the Costa del Sol in the south of the country, all of which are worth checking out. The landscape and climate are similar to California – but it’s much less than an 11-hour flight to get there from the UK, and more affordable too.

Another great option is to get some city style in the likes of Seville, Granada, Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid which is undergoing a transformation, with previously shabby parts of the city now reborn with new bars, cafes and shops opening everywhere. A personal favourite of ours is Seville, which has a lovely laid-back feel, yet still features all the class and energy you’d expect from a major city.

Away from the mainland, the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean have a lot to offer. Menorca, Majorca, Ibiza and Formentera are the four main islands. The Balearics offer something for everyone: incredible night life in Magalluf and El Arenal, beaches (some designated for nudists), traditional Spanish culture, great dining… it’s all here.

Meanwhile, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic have their own signature character and style. Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro each offer something different. Tenerife is the largest island in the group and is known for its mix of lively tourist areas including Playa De Las Americas and quiet, traditional towns and wonderful scenery inland. For the ultimate ‘away from it all’ break however, head for the dramatic landscape of El Hierro.

Weekend breaks

The obvious choice is a city break in the likes of Barcelona, or Madrid. But to take in more of the country try the wine region of Rioja, perhaps basing yourself in Laguardia or Haro. Another wonderful location is the lovely town of Sóller on the island of Majorca (Mallorca); it’s a town famous for food and drink, including delicious sea food, local ice cream, and a unique orange liqueur.

Hitting the beach

You don’t need us to tell you that Spain has hundreds of miles of wonderful beaches. Take your pick – from the peaceful golden sands of Tamariu on the Costa Brava, to the livelier setting of Marbella on the Costa del Sol, and dozens of other options.

Nightlife

It just doesn’t get any better than Spain when it comes to nightlife. If late-night action is your thing, look into these for a start: Playa del Inglés and Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria; Palma and Magaluf in Mallorca; and Santa Cruz and Los Cristianos in Tenerife.

Outdoor activities

Spain is a great place for anyone who loves the outdoors; whether you go for hiking through stunning landscapes, a diving holiday, or even birdwatching. A favourite of ours is Costa Calma on Fuerteventura, where you can dive, kayak or windsurf, or base yourself for biking or hiking around the island. Go there in the spring and the weather’s great, with hotel rooms at keener prices than the busier summer period.

Culture

Spain is a melting pot of different cultural delights including its art, music, dance and architecture. One of the best ways to experience traditional Spanish culture is to visit during one of its many festivals. Four to check out are the carnival in Tenerife throughout February, the Feria de Abril every April in Seville, the week-long Fair of Malaga in mid-August and the Aste Nagusis in Bilbao, also in mid-August and running for nine days.
